Through rigorous planning and adherence to high standards, we executed the work efficiently while maintaining the building’s fire safety and meeting stringent requirements. Additional safeguarding measures were implemented while operating within this inpatient Mental Health Services and Old Age Psychiatry facility.
What we did
We have replaced 13 and upgraded 399 fire doors throughout the Redwoods Centre to ensure building compliance.
We ensured that tools and materials were never left unattended and kept a strict sign-in sign-out policy so that everyone was always accounted for. Our operatives were checked with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and provided with extra awareness training.
Safeguarding
It is our number one priority to ensure patients and staff are safe and happy while we are completed the works.

We remained mindful of the potential disruption to staff and patients. Employing a regular team of four directly engaged operatives and one site manager ensured consistent standards and provided reassurance to both staff and patients.
Minimising disruption
Work was completed during normal working hours to reduce the cost to the NHS Trust.
