Completing the Final Phase of our Garden Regeneration at NHG's Garrick Close
Recently, we completed the final stage of a 3-part garden makeover at Notting Hill Genesis’ Garrick Close in Ealing. Together with residents and their children, Axis CLC volunteers came together to:
- Reinstate the woodland path
- Plant a new willow tree
- Create nature prints that will be used as signage for the estate
This 3-phase garden makeover, beginning in October 2024, has supported the environmental regeneration of the estate. We have had the opportunity to work alongside Gingko Gardens, Bow Arts Studios artists, Lavastar Signs Ltd and NHG staff and residents from the estate to provide a complete overhaul of the gardens.
We have provided a vital green space for residents to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, while helping to preserve and protect local flora and fauna. Through the project, we have also been able to build stronger connections with Garrick Close residents, improving trust and mutual understanding.
Across the 3 phases of this project, we have:
- Donated £5,820 to rejuvenate the garden
- Volunteered 94 hours, with 14 staff contributing to the project
- Planted over 2,000 spring bulbs
We recently received the Best Sustainability Initiative award at the Social Value Leadership Group’s third annual Social Value Supply-Chain Awards for our contribution to the Garrick Close regeneration project. This highlights the incredible impact of the project on both the environment and residents at the estate, as well as the value of multi-organisation collaboration to deliver positive community impacts.
Thank you to everyone who participated in all phases of the project!
