CLC Wins a Major Decarbonisation Contract with Cardiff Housing Retrofit
We are proud to announce that CLC has been awarded a major decarbonisation contract with Cardiff Community Housing Association (CCHA) as part of the Welsh Government's Optimised Retrofit Programme (ORP) 3.4.

- Purpose: Delivery of affordable warmth and decarbonisation through improved thermal and energy efficiency in Welsh social housing

Multiple flats, Selwyn Morris Court (retirement housing scheme):
- New roof coverings incorporating inset solar PV panels
- Battery storage
- Triple glazed windows
- Air source heat pumps
- Loft insulation
- Ventilation improvements within flats
20 terraced properties:
- Installation of solar PV systems
- Battery storage
Building our Decarbonisation experience in Cardiff
This award represents the third phase of decarbonisation works delivered by CLC for Cardiff Community Housing Association.
The Optimised Retrofit Programme is designed to act as a proof of concept, using investment in the social housing sector to lead and inform retrofit approaches for other housing tenures. The programme follows a phased approach, with homes undergoing retrofit measures incrementally over time.
As part of the funding requirements, environmental and energy monitoring sensors will be installed to gather data that will inform future retrofit programmes, including ORP 3 Year 5. The programme also supports the development of local industry, jobs, and skills within the supply chain, and requires participation in evaluation exercises aligned with Part 3 of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard 2023.
