We're thrilled to announce we have been shortlisted for the Active / Passive Fire Project of the Year at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2019, following the work we have been completing for Southampton City Council.
The Security and Fire Excellence Awards are an annual gathering of fire protection and security professionals within the industry where passion, accomplishment and brilliance are celebrated. In partnership with IFSEC International and FIREX, the awards are now in their 20th year and have consistently broken new ground in emerging and highlighting the very best people, projects and processes that the industry has to offer.
Following a fire in a high-rise flat block within Southampton, we partnered with Southampton City Council to upgrade the fire protection works across 17 blocks throughout the city. By undertaking these works, we have been providing residents with a safer home environment and the knowledge that if a fire was to occur, it would be suppressed and halted from spreading throughout the building.
An ongoing project since September 2017, the works included the installation of a complete sprinkler systems, new communal door sets and screens, replacement flat entrance fire doors, associated fire stopping works, redecoration and replacement flooring. During the project, we have also been carrying our fire compartmentation works, including cavity barrier, within the communal areas and stairways alongside fitting 253 doorsets per building.
Congratulations to all our operatives and staff involved in the project which has led to CLC nomination at the awards. We look forward to attending the prestigious event in November.
