This week has been National Apprenticeship Week and we wanted to celebrate by highlighting some of our current apprentices and success stories.
At CLC, we are always looking to take on apprentices for a variety of roles within the company. The construction industry doesn’t always involve labouring jobs; there are a wide variety of opportunities at CLC for young people and those looking for a career change, for example, administration. Anna at our Leeds branch and Shannon at Newcastle are currently completing their Business Administration Apprenticeships with us.
“The amount of support I receive on a daily basis is outstanding and I can’t thank my colleagues enough for this. CLC is always trying to push me to learn more and is always providing opportunities to develop my knowledge in different areas. If there is an opportunity available to start your working career with CLC, then I would strongly recommend this!” – Anna McAleese.
“I am currently completing my business administration apprenticeship with CLC Newcastle, and I have had an unbelievable amount of support from all my colleagues! For this I can’t thank them enough, I have developed so many new skills throughout my time at CLC and have had so many opportunities to grow further. I am so thankful to work for a company that values professional and personal growth! If a working opportunity should come along, I highly recommend this!” – Shannon Rydz.
We are dedicated to developing the skills of our staff and providing opportunities for apprentices and work placements. It’s amazing to hear that apprentices have enjoyed their time at CLC and that we have made a difference in their careers. It’s even better when they decide to stay! Chloe started as an apprentice in our Walsall team and has now moved into a permanent role:
“I cannot fault my experience as an apprentice at CLC; CLC provided me with many opportunities not only to develop myself professionally but also to develop personally, especially my confidence. I am so grateful to have received the immense support that I did from not only my manager but also my colleagues. I couldn’t have made this achievement without their support and for that, I would like to thank both staff and operatives at the CLC Walsall branch for the support given throughout my apprenticeship. If you are considering taking the opportunity of an apprenticeship at CLC, please do not hesitate, I strongly believe it would be an amazing opportunity to have a positive start to your career!” – Chloe Jones.
As a part of our social value policy, we are engaging with schools, colleges, and universities to offer career support and work experience including apprenticeships. We often attend career fairs and events to help inspire young people to get involved in the construction industry and its wide variety of career possibilities.
“Apprenticeships are an excellent way to enter the construction industry. CLC is committed to creating positive impacts in education and employment. They aim to provide opportunities for apprenticeships in the industry so that individuals can acquire new skills and develop their careers.” – Terri Walker, Social Value Manager.
“Apprenticeships are vital in sustaining the growth and success of CLC. Apprentices are not only the future Joiners, Electricians, Plumbers and Administrators in our business but our future Contracts Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Branch Managers. We must grow our own skills to be able to continue to delight our clients and win new business so Apprenticeships are core to CLC.” – Mark Waters, HR.
We have vacancies for apprentices available at our branches across the country. If you are interested in joining CLC for your apprenticeship, please get in contact with us here or you can view our vacancies here.
