As part of our social value programme, we recently offered our time and resources to ‘revamp’ Fortons Nursery in Shropshire. The nursery was calling out for a new and freshened look so our team took part in a community project to revitalise the whole building and the children’s learning space.
Providing young children with enriching, early years education, Forton Nursery was in need of a new coat of paint and a complete flooring refresh. With a touch of TLC and a pinch of inspiration from the nursery’s management team, our team set out on a rewarding community project with them to give the nursery its well-deserved ‘revamp’.
After years of seeing children through the doors at Fortons, the management team needed some help with refurbishing its entrance area, learning spaces and corridors. The decor had begun to look a little outdated and they were unable to support the work themselves.
As part of our social value programme, we gave Fortons the much needed helping hand that they were calling out for. As we know that learning time is key to these children’s development, we provided them with a team of decorators and flooring fitters who worked during the February Half Term school holiday to ensure no disruption to lessons. The dedicated team provided the nursery with a new and improved look for both staff and children and completed a full flooring refresh and fitted accompanying blinds.
Matt Hilton, our Operations Director for the Midlands and North, said “Assisting the Forton nursery with their recent make-over was an honour and we are really pleased with the final results. I really hope all the children, families and staff enjoy their new vibrant colour scheme. As part of our commitment to the communities CLC continuously deliver projects that will benefit local people and provide improvements to everyday lives”.
We painted, decorated and rejuvenated the nursery over a period of 5 days and donated locally sourced paint for use during the redecoration project.
During the works, we worked closely with the management team for them to choose the colour scheme and the finish of the works. We recommended a softer carpet for the main learning areas and a hard wearing carpet around the entrance to the building so the finish would last for much longer – much to the delight of the nursery team.
The nursery team was incredibly thrilled with the result and provided the following feedback: “My heartfelt thanks goes out to CLC for such generosity. The workmen made things go so smoothly. I’m sure the children will love their new surroundings”.
