Exeter City Council’s award-winning retrofit programme

Exeter City Council's Retrofit Programme has recently won three awards including Regional Large Scale Project and Green Homes Upgrade of the Year.

A huge congratulations to our client, Exeter City Council for recently scooping up three awards for their decarbonisation retrofit housing programme.

CLC is proud to have been working in partnership with Exeter City Council for over three years leading the delivery team providing these energy-saving measures including; cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, new windows and doors, renewing heating controls and the installation of Solar PV.  In addition to the energy-saving measures, CLC has been undertaking fabric repairs including renewal of roof coverings, brickwork repairs, and decorations works.

The ambitious programme is fuelled by Exeter City Council’s drive to improve the living conditions of its tenants and is delivered diligently by CLC and a local specialist supply chain.

The latest award, Green Homes Upgrade of the Year, was honoured at the prestigious Unlock Net Zero Live Event in Manchester. The award recognises and champions the progress being made on the journey to decarbonisation in the UK housing sector and the supply chain that support it.

CLC’s Branch Manager, Kristy Parr was at the event to cheer on our client and said, “A huge congratulations to our client Exeter City Council for winning such a prestigious award. CLC takes great pride to be involved in the delivery of these works alongside Exeter City Council and we look forward to bringing further energy-saving measures to Exeter tenants.”

Exeter City Council has so far retrofitted over 400 properties in the last three years, providing tenants with vital cost savings on their fuel bills as well as reducing the City’s carbon footprint.

In May, the Council also won two awards at the South West Energy Efficiency Awards for the programme including Regional Landlord of the Year and Regional Large Scale Project of the Year.

This year Exeter has secured further SHDF funding, and as a PAS 2030-certified company, CLC will continue to lead the installation of these measures for another 245 council properties over the next two years.
