A massive well-done to Lee Smith, CLC Warrington Branch Manager for completing the M2L Ultra Marathon to raise money for Claire House Children's Hospice.
Lee Smith, CLC Warrington Branch Manager, took part in the M2L Ultra – a 50 mile run from Manchester to Liverpool – along with a team of 20 other novice and experienced runners to raise money for Claire House Hospice.
The race, which took place on April 15, 2022, saw Lee and the other runners raise an incredible £8,000 for Claire House Hospice which helps seriously ill and terminally ill children live life to the fullest.
Lee Smith, said: “Many thanks for the donations to the cause. This money really will make a difference to people’s lives during some very testing times.”
The race was set up by Jimmy Brown, an endurance runner, who brought together Lee and others to take part in the event to raise money for the charity which helps support both children and their families bring a sense of normality to their challenging everyday lives.
The Manchester to Liverpool Ultra 2022 race is part of the GB Ultras which specialises in 50, 100 & 215 Mile Ultra Marathons across the country. Competitors have a 14 hour slot to complete the 50 mile trail which covers the Trans-Pennine Trail, the Manchester Ship Canal and the River Mersey from Manchester to Liverpool.
A massive well done to Lee who completed the brutal road and trail run in an astonishing 11 hours and 9 minutes.
