CLC takes an active interest in the communities in which it works and continually looks at interesting ways of lending its support. The company is a keen supporter of charity and although we make many donations each year we also believe in utilising the skills of our management and tradesmen to benefit these causes. Below are some examples of our recent activities:
JDRF
Over 200 of CLC’s staff have taken part in JDRF fundraising events in the last 2 years including the ‘Walk to Cure Diabetes’ and a 12,000ft parachute jump, raising over £50,000 for JDRF in the process.
STEPS Makeover Challenge
St Botolph’s Old School, Leicestershire is home to the STEPS charity. Local companies were approached to contribute to a project to refurbish the school. CLC provided a team of painters and the required materials throughout the entire duration of the project to ensure the school was professionally decorated and therefore a bright, stimulating environment for the staff, children and families associated with STEPS.
ITV ‘Big Clean Up’
CLC took part in the ITV ‘Big Clean Up’ at Shepherds Down Special School. CLC staff dedicated their weekend to converting a classroom into a music room and decorating the school’s entrance.
CITB Skills Day
CLC recently joined forces with CITB and Gloscat Construction College to offer local students a day of learning construction skills. 48 final year students from local schools were able to try their hand at skills including carpentry and painting & decorating.
"CLC have raised an amazing amount of money for JDRF in 3 years. Over two hundred of their staff have taken part in the 'Walk to Cure Diabetes' and ten others even took part in a parachute jump from 12,000 feet! This is testament to how far CLC will go to help our cause to fund research into finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes."
Luanne Martin, Regional Development Manager, JDRF
"We are absolutely delighted with the transformation. When the children came in on Monday morning there was a beautiful music room waiting for them. They will have hours of fun exploring the sounds of the instruments and making music. We cannnot thank CLC enough"
Tony Gazzard, Headmaster, Shepherds Down School
"We wanted to say a very big thank you to your company for your valuable contribution to the STEPS Makeover challenge. I could not believe how wonderful the building looked when I arrived after your painters had been in."
